It's a GIRL!!!!

How many of you actually thought my first born would be a girl???

I loved all the reactions...
My mom: Are you serious??? I was so sure it would be a boy...(she has 4 granddaughters)
Josh's mom: ITS A GIRL!!! (screaming over the phone)
Josh's dad: Oh...I'm ready to spoil her as much as she will spoil me!
Paul: Can you name her Paula?
My sister: I'm so excited!!! another girl for the family!
My brother: I knew already!!!

I made this blanket for her!

Last ultrasound:

We are VERY excited! and the fear of spoiling her went away, replaced by all the cute stuff that it's already spoiling her!

So you thought we were gone?

As you see, some things have been changing around here...
Not only on the blog, but in our lives in general.

Job:

I have been working for a Hematology/Oncology Office.
My heart has always been with patients suffering from cancer, and I'm just thrilled that God has put me in such place where I can actually make the difference in their lives. (even if it's just by holding their hands when they are scared or smiling in the morning when they feel like nothing else in the world smiles at them anymore).

Our family:

On January 12th, 2012 Josh and I found out we were pregnant! We are due on 9/10/12.
My first trimester went by so fast that I'm actually scared that the second and third will be the same way and I won't have anything ready for the baby when he/she comes...
Here are some highlights of my first trimester:
I only got sick twice and the thing that made me sick, and still does, is chicken!
I had two cravings, my first one was "dulce de leche" which my wonderful husband went to the store and got for me...And the second, was when I woke up in the middle of the night after dreaming that I was eating "pao de quieijo com recheio de requeijao" those that we can only find at Casa do Pao de Queijo, in Brazil...
Well, I got a box of the pao de queijo mix and made it...it turned out pretty tasty! (but I couldn't find requeijao anywhere)
Then a week later, my friend Tailing went to Miami and bought me one cup of requeijao (which I ate in two days with a loaf of french bread).
I have gained about 7 lbs so far, and can't fit into any of my skinny jeans anymore, but I'm pretty satisfied with my new looking boobs body!

Our life style:

Being married to a medical student is not easy...being married to a medical student and being pregnant is definitely not easy...
I work 40~45 hours per week, take care of the house, the pets, myself...at the end I feel like there is no time for blogging...
I miss the days where I worked only 3 days per week, but I do not miss the hospital craziness, the on call days, and the long hours.
On the other hand, working five days per week gives me no choice but to spend every minute of the weekend enjoying life with my husband!

All in all, everything else is pretty much the same.
I will try to find some extra time to share some preggo pictures with you all and to write about special moments of our happy little life!

Love,

Rachel
